Catherine Fischer began her classical ballet training under the instruction of Kathryn Wheeler in Mount Dora, Florida. She received her BA in Dance from DeSales University, where she studied under Timothy Cowart, Trinette Singleton (Joffrey Ballet), Tara Madsen Robbins, and Angela Sigley. She has also trained with the Orlando Ballet School, The School at Steps on Broadway, and attended American College Dance Festivals in both New York and Pennsylvania. She was honored to perform Alwin Nikolais’ Tensile Involvement under the direction of Alberto del Saz in NYC during the centennial celebration in 2010. She was also seen in the Philly Fringe Festival in 2014 with New Street Dance Group in their piece title“Structurally Sound.” Most recently she performed as an apprentice with The Collective in their annual performance “(end of) Summer SHORTS,'' and is currently on faculty at the Greenbelt Community Center & an instructor with XtendBarre in the DC metro area. Catherine is thrilled to be joining The Collective for her first season.
