Community Project
Announcing The Community Project 2009: Go Green!
The Collective will host its annual Community Project where members of the community are invited and encouraged to participate in the making of a new dance work. This year's project will be choreographed by Collective co-director, Jessica Fultz. Participants will learn movement phrases and choreography based on creating an environmentally friendly community.
The Community Project is open to all experience levels and movers of all styles. Partcipants must be at least 16 years old to participate. The project is FREE for all participants.
Rehearsals for The Community Project 2009 will be held on Sundays from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Experimental Movement Concepts in Hampden. Rehearsals will be held on the following days: January 25th, February 1st, February 8th, February 22nd, March 1st, and March 8th.
The final performance for The Community Project 2009 will take place on Saturday, March 14th at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Performances will be at 2pm and 8pm.
To participate in The Community Project 2009, please plan on attending the first rehearsal and meet the directors of The Collective on Sunday, January 25th from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Experimental Movement Concepts. History of The Community Project: On April 5, 2008, The Collective premiered the second annual Community Project at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The theme for 2008: "Moving and Transitioning Through an Urban Environment." More than 20 participants performed in this project. The Collective is proud to continue the success begun in March 2007 when over 20 dancers of all levels from the Baltimore area joined together to perform a piece choreographed by Jennifer Ousse-Seye with the theme of "Waterfalls".
