The Collective is a collaborative ensemble consisting of dancers and
choreographers who share the mission to further develop dance as
an art form. Founded in 1999, The Collective was established to provide
an environment for Baltimore's professional dancers and choreographers
to work as a group, using each member's individual, distinctive voice to
create and perform new works. Over the years, the company has grown
and matured, and although the organizational structure has changed, the
spirit of shared vision remains the driving force behind this unique group.
The Co-Directors of the company encourage members to bring input and
invite several individuals to choreograph each year.

The Collective has shared their work with audiences in Baltimore through
performances at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Theatre Project,
The Morris A. Mechanic Theatre, Towson University, Johns Hopkins University,
Artscape and The Hippodrome. They have also traveled up and down the
East Coast, performing at Dance Place in Washington D.C., New York City and
in Philadelphia.
